27th Nov 2011 1960s Murder Mystery at Pulborough, for the Rotary Club

Thank you to you all for a lovely evening and much enjoyed by all ....it really was excellent!

Marion Milton

'Pop Idle' Murder Mystery at Pulborough Village Hall for Storrington Rotary Club on November 26th 2011

The cast of six were beautifully and appropriately costumed, remained in character even whilst talking to the supper guests, who were given plenty of opportunity to ask questions and generally get involved in the production. Ellie Cleasby and William Croome sang well with great passion. Amanda Hislop and Richard Tyrrell performed totally convincingly and Kathy Haigh was sheer magic as a wayward 1960s flower girl but the performer 'par excellence' of this great production was Bob Murtagh. This group have all the right ingredient to bring theatre to the masses in an affordable fashion.

What a great evening you gave us. Many thanks.

'Mallets Aforethought' Murder Mystery at Chichester Park Hotel, for the MS Society on 25th November 2011

You all worked so hard and kept all the guests on their toes and involved them totally in your performance and storyline.
It was great fun.

'Mallets Aforethought' 1930s Murder Mystery

starring Miss Yuna Marbles for an Anniversary Party in Patcham, Brighton, 12th November 2011

Thank you so much for such a fantastic evening last night, and please pass on my thanks to the others. We all thoroughly enjoyed the evening and were so impressed by the way you did everything. I had several members of our group coming up to me through the evening telling me how much they loved it and I had a message this morning from someone saying they think it was the best social event the group has ever had - how fitting for the 80th anniversary! We will definitely recommend you to other people.

Thank you once again for such a brilliant evening. (from organiser Sally McNally)

Three Short Plays at Winterton Hall on October 15th 2011

Once again, I find myself writing to thank you for a fantastic evening presented by Castaway.

The three short plays you put on at Winterton Hall in October were wonderful and we had a very successful evening, raising over £500 to help keep the hall running.

We very much hope you will be able to return in 2012.

Regards,
John Barnes (Winterton Hall, Plaistow)

Just wanted to say many congratulations on This Almost Joy,(Arundel Theatre Trail 2011) which I saw and enjoyed hugely this afternoon.
I loved the script when I first read it, but I thought your production added a lot of extra value. Congratulations to all involved - particularly to Richard (Tyrrell) for his tour de force.

All the best,
Simon Brett

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the murder mystery afternoon at Petworth House today. I scribbled copious notes which obviously paid off because we guessed the murderer!!

Love Bytes

I was totally entertained for an hour by these two productions ......... very cleverly performed by Geoff Goble and Liz McNally
......their body language and facial expressions were brilliant .... All the actors were totally convincing in their parts. Again many thanks and please let me know when your next production is being performed. I would love to come and see you all again.

Yours sincerely, Jose Harrison - NODA Rep

Love Bytes at Winterton Hall on October 30th 2010

Many thanks for the Castaway presentation of "Love Bytes" at the Winterton Hall last month. The evening was a great success and we have heard nothing but praise from everyone that was there. It was fantastic to watch you all create such a great cast of characters with no set and very few props and it was great to be able to present something new which was so full of beautifully timed, laugh-out-loud lines. Please pass on our thanks to all the cast. Thank-you, also, for proposing that Pollytonic also played on the night. Their performance went down well and made for a wonderful evening. Finally, thanks again for the minimal charge that Castaway and Pollytonic made for the evening as this has helped considerably in raising funds to keep the hall running. We look forward to welcoming you back to the hall in the future.

"... thank you all for providing such a wonderful evening`s entertainment at our Edinburgh Fringe Preview in July. In your two thought provoking and delightful comedies you turned the evening into something special and one which many people still talk about in the village! The evening raised £4,660 for St Wilfred`s Hospice."

Lizzie Gibbon, Secretary Lavant Valley Support group for St Wilfred`s Hospice

`Both pieces made me laugh aloud and all your performances were assured and relaxed. That sort of comedy relies on very subtle playing and terrific pace and you delivered both in abundance. It was a really perfect entertainment for the evening. Congratulations and thank you!" Joe Harmston. West End Theatre Director

`Allowing the audience to sit around tables with a meal and enjoy their drinks whilst the music and drama unfolded created a wonderful atmosphere which was warm and relaxed. I thought Castaway were hugely entertaining - very watchable and very funny. I have not laughed so much at a stage show for a long time.`

“And who hasn’t held a post-mortem on their dinner party? – the sublime duo Loretta Thomlinson and Richard Tyrrell in Tilapia superbly understated the devastation that ensued.” “Tilapia” at Arundel's Theatre Trail, August 2010

“Liz McNally is an endearing performer and she conveys the sense of vulnerability which can plague single women of a certain age and in Ring Ring she gave a very convincing (and funny) weegie accent. ................... Geoff Goble is funny and stood out. His monotonous whine was affective and caused laughter and his gradually increasing arousal was nicely expressed. ..................... Richard Tyrrell gave a convincing performance as a nice guy who takes bad advice from his laddish friend and Kathy Haigh effectively portrayed a self-conscious, sweet, middle aged women desperate for love.”

“Entertaining from the start, and a good parody on society today, depicting our reliance on technology i.e phone and emails. Light hearted entertainment for the afternoon without any hint of offense.”

“These two short pieces featuring couples flirting by phone and e-mail provide a potential comic goldmine"
